Trailer Clean-Up - Sat., March 9 from 9am - noon

This Sat., March 9 from 9am to noon: Please join us at Fruit Cove Baptist Church back parking lot (behind Gym).  Scouts will be completing a thorough inventory and cleaning of patrol boxes and trailer items. Event should be completed by Noon. Pizza and drinks will be provided!

Swim Test - Sunday, March 10, noon - 2pm at JCP Rec Center

If your Scout  has not completed a swim test since last Spring/Summer (those administered before Summer Camp), and is planning on attending the March 15th Canoeing Camp out, he will need to complete the BSA Swim Test.  This will only take 5 -10 Minutes.  Location : Julington Creek Plantation Recreation Center: 350 Plantation  Club Parkway from noon to 2pm on Sunday, March 10.

Glen Brackett's Eagle Project, Sat. March 2nd

Glen Brackett’s Eagle project is Saturday, March 2nd from 8am to 3pm at Saint Johns Grammar School – 2353 State Road 13 in Switzerland.

We are going to be clearing brush and removing a split rail fence.  Then we are going to install a new board fence.

Please bring gloves, cordless drills, posthole diggers, shovels, loping shears and wheel barrels and please let me know what you can bring.

We will provide lunch and drinks. Please call Andy Brackett at 307-5950 if you have questions.

Changes to Rank Reqs. and MBs for 2013

Attached is a list of changes for 2013 in the BSA for Scouting and Venture (see #3). The main change is for those starting to work on 2nd class in 2013 and for those who have not earned their Eagle rank by the end of 2013.

Aquatics Camp Registration Now Open!

Go for a week or all eight weeks from June 17th through August 9th...Aquatics Camp at St. John's River Base at Echockotee (formerly known as Camp Echockotee) is a nationally accredited Day Camp program open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14. Each week, campers can choose from over 30 activities including wakeboarding, archery, BB's, arts and crafts, space exploration, fishing, swimming, canoeing and more!

Several merit badge classes are available!

Olustee Campout - Feb. 15 - 17th

*NOTE: Temps will drop to the 30's so plan accordingly with wool blankets, hats and warm jackets!

Troop 474 Will attend the Annual Battle of Olustee Reenactment, Feb. 15 - 17th, as well as visit the encampments and demonstrations during the day. The cost is $7.00 per scout, This EXCLUDES cost of meals.

Leave: 6:30 P.M. Fri 2/15 from behind back corner of Publix across from FCBC.
Pick-up: 12:00 Noon Sunday behind Publix.

Those needing to work on requirements, we should have some time in Morning for scout skills work.

On one weekend every February, thousands of reenactors from across the U.S. and even from overseas, come to the Park to reenact the Battle of Olustee. Reenactors begin arriving as early as Thursday to set up. The public is invited to attend the reenactment on Saturday and Sunday, visit the camps, view demonstrations, interact with living historians, shop at numerous sutler tents for Civil War merchandise, and attend the battle on each day.
